Yanity Wedding Sneak Peek!
This is one of the most difficult sneak peek blogs I have had to write thus far because I have no idea where to start or what words to use to really describe this day in the way it deserves, but let me try…
While every single wedding I capture is special in its own way this wedding is the most personally special wedding to me that I have ever captured. While I often capture weddings for friends, acquaintances, friends of friends, etc, the bride in this wedding is my best friend’s big sister and someone who has been in my life for nearly 15 years. I have more of a personal relationship with this couple than I have with any of my other couples, and the entire day was more like capturing a family member’s wedding than a client’s wedding. The wedding party was made up of many people who I spend time with on a regular basis and the reception was full of people who I have known since I was a child.
Because this wedding was so special to me, I wanted to make sure everything was perfect. And because of that I think I might have been a little extra stressed than normal, especially at the beginning of the day, to make sure I didn’t miss a thing and that I provided my friend with absolutely the best photos and memories of her big day that I possibly could. In order to do that I had my “Photographer Goggles” on. This is when I try to emotionally disconnect from what is happen to best capture the moment without getting too swept up in it. Even still, there were so many moments when I was fighting back happy tears behind my view finder. From seeing Keenan’s face when he first saw Meagan, to seeing Meagan’s sisters crying during the ceremony, to taking Mr and Mrs Yanity’s beautiful sunset portraits together, to the first dance, to my best friend making the MOH speech, to Meagan and Keenan’s grand exit that they had to redo about 5 times because Meagan was having so much fun walking through the sparklers.
But when I got home, and started looking through the photos, the goggles came off and the tears start flowing. In the many years that I have known Meagan I have seen her go through ups and downs, as we all go through, and there were times when I wished and wished for her to find someone to treat her as she deserves and make her happy and I am beyond pleased to see that she has found that in Keenan. He has definitely made her happier than I have ever seen her in the many years that I have known her and it is so obvious in their beautiful photos.
The highlights of Meagan and Keenan’s wedding start with their beautiful venue, where Keenan happens to work, Lew’s Patio & Grill. This country club in Florseville provided for not only a gorgeous background for the ceremony but an absolutely stunning background for Meagan and Keenan’s sunset portraits together to match their sunset engagement portraits. Some other highlights were the beautiful purple table linens and accents, adorable chalkboard signs by KR Designs, and elegant and delicious cake from Creations Cakes that matched the amazingly stunning Watters dress that she was lucky enough to barrow from a friend.
By far, my favorite part of the day was riding off into the sunset on a golf cart with the new Mr. And Mrs. Yanity where we captured their portraits together. I knew the photos were beautiful when we were taking them and I got excited and kept squeeling “ooo that’s so pretty!” but because of those photographer goggles I mentioned, it wasn’t until I looked at them at home that I realized I loved every single one of them, and yes, I cried a little. I loved being able to go off to a secluded place with the Bride and Groom and have time to really spend with just them capturing their love and happiness in the beautiful sunset.
I could not be happier for my friends and I could not be more honored that they chose to have me capture this amazing day for them. Thank you so much. I wish y’all all of the happiness in the world, you so deserve it so much and I can’t wait to watch y’all build your lives together!

I would also like to say a special thanks to the Wood family for being such amazing life long friends. I feel so honored to have y’all in my life and to always be accepted into your family! All 4 of you mean the world to me and I love you so much!
